Upgrade your Scroll Saw with Pegas Blade Chuck Heads Made for Jet Scroll Saws

These new “Blade Chuck Heads” (also known as Blade Clamps) were developed in Switzerland by Pégas in association with the HEIG engineering school in Yverdon.  NOTE - the Regular Pegas Blade Clamps are also a popular option for Jet Scroll Saws to replace the upper and lower scroll saw clamp.

The studies and the tests demonstrated that the weight of these heads is in direct relation with the service life and the vibrations of the machine.

This blade clamp replacement has only the lower blade clamp for an easy, fast and precise blade mounting. It allows the keep the original JET upper blade clamp.

For a complete change (upgrade) of lower and upper blade clamps on the JET JWSS-22 and the JET JWSS-18, use the Pegas Blade Chuck Head Set SS-PEGAS-CHUCK.

You can read more from Steve Good on the Scroll Saw Workshop blog. Steve was kind enough to give installation instructions as well.

He commented on the bottom clamp in two posts.  June 20, 2018 Blog Post on the new DeWalt/Delta and JET clamps.

There is also a review from March.  Read the Blade Clamp review by clicking here. Works perfectly for BOTTOM feeding scrollers.

1) These new heads, are slightly lighter than the original JET Heads.

2) Vibration will be reduced and the lighter weight means better protection of the mechanical parts of the scroll saw.

3) Changing Blades is going to be much easier and faster

Specifications

Aeronautical Grade Aluminum clamp.

There is a swivel on the end of the thumb screw that contacts with the blade. Instead of the blade spinning when you tighten it down, the swivel stays in place on the blade allowing the thumb screw to rotate without turning the blade.

Renewal Kits also available - to replace the components that come into contact with the blade.  Click here to order some.

Concerned, conservative 05/30/2020
By Duane McCorkle
I was surprised that there wasn't a note in your lists about using Pegas blades on a Jet Scroll Saw, some mention that the lower jaw assy on a Jet might not work. So I haven't finished the change from the Jet jaw to Pegas. With this virus garbage going on, my local Jet/lumber store is minimal staff and I don't want to do something to disable my Jet Scroll Saw and be without any capability if I have any problems. The Jet lower assy screws seem to be locktight in place. And I am hesitant today to strong arm them and end up break8ng sonething. So I continue to use my reserve Olsen and Craftsman blades. Really irritating.

Jet Jss22b scroll saw lower blade upgrade 01/27/2019
By Adam Unsell
Just got this lower blade holder for my jet scroll saw and it works fantastic. It now makes it possible for me to use reverse tooth blades where the reverse teeth come above the table . With the standard blade holder reversed tooth blades did not come above the table now they do. Fantastic quality and easy to use. I highly recommend

Bottom clamp takes a bit of getting used to, finding the correct alignment when putting a blade in but once in I love it.seems to have reduced vibration on my machine
