This chair utilizes a dowel ended cross support that runs in a dadoed slot in the legs.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn designing this chair, I felt it was important to keep the integrity of the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"folding_chair.gif\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003eoriginal chair\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e, made by my Grandfather in the 1930's. I have refurbished the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"MFC_original_refurbished.jpg\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003elast 2 original chairs\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e, but I find that they are too small for most people.The new design is 3\" wider and 2\" taller, so it can be used at a regular height dining table. I have changed the design by adding mission style side panels for strength, ease of assembly and material replacement when needed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAs seen in the pictures above, the chair folds to 5\" wide for easy storage.
