I have sat in many styles around cottage country, and still think this pattern is the most comfortable.\u003cbr\u003eThe tall, curved back cradles you, and the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"adirondack4.gif\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e19\" (48.3cm) wide seat\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: maroon; font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e wide seat is contoured and curves\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e under your knees. The low profile allows you to \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"grandpa.gif\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003estretch out your legs.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: maroon; font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e The \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"adirondack2.gif\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e7 1\/2\" (19cm) wide arms\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003eof this chair, will hold a dinner plate or magazine, and comfortably rest your arms with coffee in hand. \u003cbr\u003eI have extended the height of the original back, so that taller people can rest their head. I have also lowered, and added a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"adirondackseat.gif\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003ecurved back seat slat\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e \u003cspan style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Helvetica; font-size: small;\"\u003e, to match the curve of the back slats. This eliminates the \"butt-bite\", of the original design, caused by the space left between the back slats and the last seat slat.Plans also include pictures and dimensions of the taper sled I use on my table saw, to cut the back slats and back support pieces.\u003cbr\u003eThe chair is totally constructed of 3\/4\" (1.9cm) pine, but can be made with cedar fence boards.
