Had no issue installing the chuck on a DW788.
However, I must have missed the direction on where the lever should be for proper function. Thank to Michael Murray, my issues were quickly resolved and am successfully cutting out patterns. Time will tell if the lever pops up on its own again.

Thank you for sending me the Pegas Chuck Head. I bought one several years ago and it was just worn out.
The new one worked for a week or so then the blade tightener kept popping loose. So I added Velcro to keep it locked..then about a week later when loosening it the adjuster wouldn't loosen.. so I put some lube on it and now I don't have any Velcro on it and it works like it's was supposed to..
I use my Excalber 30" scroll saw almost every day..We bought the small house next door and I gutted it even the floor joist were removed.. they I leveled the craw space then had concrete poured.. It's just a woodshop now.
Years ago I made name plaques for governors, senators, a bunch of musicians, NFL players and actors.. they always sent me a thank you letter
I've never charged for them..
