This one started out looking like it wasn't going to look right but turned our great. Only 2 problems was somehow the lift arms were too short so I redid them to fit and the bucket was challenging as finding the right pieces of wood without cracks that were large enough. It was my first project with Hedge Apple wood which is hard as a rock and yellow as mustard. Looked very appropriate for this project however color does change to a cinnamon color after aging

The ordering process was straight forward and easy. The plans showed up less than a week which was perfect considering all the weather that has happened. Once I opened them up everything was laid out in an easy to follow layout of all the parts to make. If you want a good company to work with I Highly recommend.

Some of the diagrams for placement of the movable parts could be better described. Overall the plans are pretty well done.

Each Toys and Joys Pattern is a full sized blueprint style pattern, complete with scale drawings and measurements of each part. You can also reference the tab "Recommended Parts" for some popular items required by the pattern that you can buy (or make).

Here's some tools we suggest that will help you to work with most of the Toys and Joys patterns.

Band Saw or other saw to cut the body pieces.
Drill Press
Power Sander: Disc Sander / Belt Sander Combination)
Table Saw
Router
Spindle Sander (Not required but can be useful)
Small clamps (Rubber Bands can be used in some cases)
Scroll Saw (Nice to have, but not required)
Lathe (Only required for a 3 models) (Locomotives, & Ready Mix Truck)
Some hand tools can be useful.

Plus of course some Glue - we recommend our Titebond Glue
