I am happy with models

Good set of plans. Challenging, especially for this old guy that has fingers that struggle with small parts. I get great reviews on finished products.Your biggest competitor, at least with me, is Forrest River Designs and I have built most of their models. I do like their plans as they include advice, have the plans in the order of construction, and the exact location of parts, but you guys have a more diversified line up of models. So will continue to build both "Joys and Toys" and Forrest River Designs.Eric Larsen

exactly what I ordered

The parts are well made, and I think the construction plans are extremely thorough! I am a happy woodworker.

Woodie Wagon Drawings and Components

Excellent service, and the items arrived quickly in the UK, and were as-described. The quality as usual is very good. The drawings are detailed and easy to follow. They repay close study before you start cutting stuff up. You will need some quality timber to do it justice, and either a reasonable range of woodworking machine tools or a steady hand and lots of patience. I expect it to be harder than the 'Dozer' I am currently working on, but you gain skills and 'work arounds' with the simpler projects so I don't envisage any problems - except hiding it from the end-user. I love the styling and the colour scheme, and have got some walnut I hope will do it justice. It reminds me of the Ford V8 'station wagon' our local garage had when I was younger than I am now. Probably filched from the US Army. Many thanks as usual.

Tips

Each Toys and Joys Pattern is a full sized blueprint style pattern, complete with scale drawings and measurements of each part. You can also reference the tab "Recommended Parts" for some popular items required by the pattern that you can buy (or make).

Here's some tools we suggest that will help you to work with most of the Toys and Joys patterns.

Band Saw or other saw to cut the body pieces.
Drill Press
Power Sander: Disc Sander / Belt Sander Combination)
Table Saw
Router
Spindle Sander (Not required but can be useful)
Small clamps (Rubber Bands can be used in some cases)
Scroll Saw (Nice to have, but not required)
Lathe (Only required for a 3 models) (Locomotives, & Ready Mix Truck)
Some hand tools can be useful.

Plus of course some Glue - we recommend our Titebond Glue
