They work great! 03/27/2020
By Doug Schwandt
The hands fit just like they were specifically made for the movement(s) they went on. They appear to be fairly heavy gauge metal (for their size), and are easy to work with.

The hands came well packaged and were undamaged when they arrived. The packing job I saw was the best I have ever seen, and I have ordered from several companies.

Shipping is a pet peeve of mine. I realize (now) that you are based in Canada, but WHY must an order languish for FIVE DAYS in the Canadian post office? Then there is an instance with USPS (you're not responsible for this one), where the shipment completely bypassed my state and went to Memphis, TN, only to be delivered two days later. There was a lot of lost time where shipping was concerned.

I'm gearing up for a sale in May, which may or may not happen, due to the current epidemic, but I will order again as I need to.

Works well… 09/22/2021
By Brian Miller
The clock actually works as expected, so that’s a good thing. The problem is there are approximately one million (give or take) variations on the basic device. While the case is the standard size, and the hands the right length, the shaft is too long to mount in the clock I was repairing and still use the glass cover. This was the second try at repairing this clock (but my first purchase from Bear Wood), and I can’t fault anyone but myself for the oversight, but does there really need to be so many variations with the same part number?

Tips

how to choose clock movements and hands

How do I choose the right size clock motor & hands?
1) Refer to the figure here, or Click Here for helpful info (a new window or tab will open)

2) The size of hands is based on the length of the minute hand from the mounting hole to the end of the minute hand. (Figures 3 & 4)

3) Our clock motors are sized by the thickness of the dial the movements can go through.  EG. High torque Q-64 will go through up to 5/8" thick material, while standard/mini motor Q-11 will go through 1/8" thick clock faces. (Figure 1 and  item "A" in Figure 2)

Tip 1)  If your material is too thick, consider removing some to in-set the clock.  Or if your clock face material is too thin, consider adding some material behind the face so the hands will sit closer to your clock face.

Tip 2) Most hands can be slightly trimmed if need be.

Tip 3) Our customers also spray paint them.
