I used this little electric movement and some hands to replace a Swiss movement in an 8 day ships clock with a beautiful solid brass case but a broken mainspring. For less than $14 I have a clock that works again, alas without the watch bells, but no one is the wiser, and it's way more accurate than the mechanical movement ever was. I hate to think what it would have cost to replace the mainspring in the Swiss movement! It took only minutes to install the quartz movement after the old movement was removed, although I had to use a thicker washer than the rubber one supplied, to keep the shaft from touching the glass when the face was closed.

Very happy with my purchase. I was about to throw away an old broken mantle clock until I thought about replacing the mechanism with a modern one. Bear Woods made it easy to find exactly the mechanism I needed, all for around $15. The instructions on the website made it real easy to install my new clock parts. Now I have a working clock again!

Today I will be placing my forth order for 20 more clock mechanisms from Bear Woods Supply with 100% confidence that if there is any issue with the order, it will be dealt with immediately. Great company to purchase from. I make CD/DVD clocks with these mechanisms and they are going like hot cakes at craft shows in southern Ontario. These Movements come with everything I need except I have to purchase a larger washer as the centre hole in a printable CD/DVD case is too big for the washers included with these sets. Minor detail. With a great selection of clock hands in Black, White or Brass, you're sure to find the right combination for your project. To determine which size hands to get, measure from the centre of your clock face to where you would like the end of the hand to be. They can also be cut to length if you select the right style. The brass hands come with a protective plastic coating on them which is easily removed by simply taking a small piece of scotch tape, place it on the end of the hand and pull the very thin layer of plastic off. Another bonus - MADE IN USA - support north America. These movements can be found all over the place but you can't beat Bear Woods Supply Company for SERVICE. That is paramount.

The items were received in good condition, were installed and work well. The only problem was with the unnecessarily long time to get them due to the post office sending the parts from British Columbia to Montreal before they entered the United States in New York. Rather the long way around to get to California. This had nothing to do with the company or their product, or their delivery of the parts to the post office. They also were very quick to respond to my email about the long, round about trip for the parts to get here.
The company and its parts seem first rate; the Canadian Post Office . . . not.

The quartz clock unit and hands package were just as described. All seems to be of good or better quality. Installed in my brass ships clock housing without a hitch. The clock housing required second and minute hands of no more than 1 and 11/16 inches in length. The hand package I ordered was 1 and 7/8 inch (the shortest available). A simple job to nip off the excess at the tips. Looks good and seems so far to be keeping accurate time. Thanks. It's nice to have my ships clock working again. (Be aware that passing U.S. customs may delay shipments to the U.S. by as much as an additional week.)

I purchased a quartz clock movement and an accompanying set of hands from Bear Woods, to resurrect a beloved quartz regulator clock that had stopped working after many years. Using the straightforward instructions presented on the Bear Woods website, I was able to complete the job in about 10 minutes with no special tools. The newly-revived clock keeps perfect time. I plan to tackle at least one more clock restoration project this winter, and I definitely will come back to Bear Woods for my parts requirements.

Not being at all sure of what I needed to replace the works on a small quartz clock, the Bear Woods website came to my rescue. I ordered what I "thought" was what I needed. When my order arrived, the movement and hands were exactly that. Even thought there were no instructions, everything went together simply and easily. Bear Woods has an excellent choice of parts an supplies. I ordered several mini quartz clocks and several different clock hands. Alll arrived packed very well. No parts were missing. The only complaints and it's not really a complaints is the shipping time and cost. The shipping took 10 days to arrive and the shipping cost was much higher than it shroud have been for such a light weight package. But it understandable since shipping is a profit center for most companies.

I make clocks out of CD's by printing on the printable CD whatever the client wants. Because of the size of the CD hole, I had to purchase separate washers to hold the CD in place. Service was very fast and all clocks work great. The silver hangers that come with the clock, I paint black as it can be seen once item is fully assembled. The 1/8" thick clock dial is perfect to make a clock out of a CD. Very happy with products from Bear Woods - Highly recommended.

I am very happy with the product and price. However the shipping packaging left much to be desired. All the clock bodies were willy-nilly and a lot of the nuts and hardware had come off. In fact, the UPS guy shook the box and thought it sounded like broken glass. No damage, but a mess to put back together. Some bubble wrap over the clock bodies would have helped. I will order again and hope that problem solved.

We had a 30-y.o. battery-powered clock that we liked, but the motor died. I googled the original clock-motor mfr's name and Bear Woods popped-up. They gave:
1) Prompt and courteous responses to emailed questions;
2) Reasonable pricing.
3) Prompt shipping; and
4) Good quality.

Installation was easy and quick. The new clock-motor is keeping perfect time.

All in all, a good product and the shipping and delivery are great. My only complaint, and this is not on BearWoods, but on the manufacturer, is that the movement setting seems a bit sticky with quite a bit of backlash. This is a consistent behavior in all the movements. It doesn't affect operation, but does give a bad impression to customers when they go to set the time.

There was a minute hand locking nut missing in the order but a simple note to Bear Woods and the nut was immediately mailed to me. Tips

Install a FRESH Duracell or Energizer Battery (But not a rechargeable type). In our experience, these are the only batteries that are reliable for clock mechanisms. Sometimes you will even try a separate pack as not all new packs have perfect batteries.
