1000 Toys. 1 Day
Isaac is a 15 year old who is off school. The other day he asked if he could sit at our Pegas scroll saw for 10 hours one day soon and make little cars and trucks for kids - to inspire others to do similar and to help while we are all #togetherapart. Analies is co-owner of Bear Woods. Analies has a vision to see Bear Woods helping inspire others to get kids working on projects that in turn are given to those in need. And to get kids in general working with wood.
#togetherapart in action - we are going to help Isaac and Analies with this shared vision. Bear Woods will help with the supplies he needs. And we thought you might want to help too.
We will be live streaming this event on Bear Woods Facebook. And invite others to live stream on the same feed, or on their own. #togerherapart
Yes, you can help too!
1. You can help by donating through this link to help offset Isaac's materials cost and the discounts we are giving other makers who are making toys on Saturday as well. Donate by adding to your cart from this page today.
2. You can make toys as well. Steve Good has graciously designed 4 FREE Patterns to make with 2x4 stock or similar wood and shared the news about this campaign at Scrollsaw Workshop - a source for over 3000 FREE woodworking patterns and lots of helpful articles and ideas. http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2020/03/toys-for-good-cause-scroll-saw-patterns.html
The pattern calls for 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" wheels, either treaded or contoured. Click here to shop for wheels.
The pattern also calls for Axle Pegs. Click here to shop for axle pegs.
3. If you want to contribute and make toys yourself, please let us know so we can send you a special coupon to use toward your wheels and axles - we will do as much as we can! You can simply reply to this email or use our contact form here to let us know: Contact Us
The toys will have to be sanded smooth - and then be delivered to your local food bank or children's hospital or women's shelter or to other kids who will benefit from a handmade toy to lift their spirits.
