The clock insert is attractive and appears well made. The only reason why I didn't give it an excellent rating is due to the fact that the backside of the inside was far smaller than I thought it would be after conversations with the support staff. I finally figured out a way to modify the insert by using very small thick rubber bands. The suggestion of gluing or putting paper around it didn't seem to work well at all.

I bought some of these to go in the clocks I make out of exotic woods. I was very pleased with the quality and looks. They make my work look more classy too. I just hope they last. Only thing I didnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t like was having to buy a special sized Forstner bit. 1 7/16 is an odd size. IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ll be buying these again. I think they a worth the extra $5 rather than buy the plastic ones.

Tips

Install a FRESH Duracell or Energizer Battery (But not a rechargeable type). In our experience, these are the only batteries that are reliable for clock mechanisms. If that doesn't work, also try a battery from a separate pack - this seems to help on many occasions too.

Our soft gasket mounting system allows you some flexibility about the size of the actual mounting hole. You can adapt these new inserts to a 1/8 inch larger hole size by removing the soft rubber gasket, and wrapping the back of the insert with plumbers Teflon tape or electrical tape to “build up” the back of these insert clocks. Then re install the soft rubber gasket to adapt to fit a larger mounting hole.
